Finnish Homicide Monitor (FHM) 2002-2019 | EIGE

The aim of the FHM is to monitor the homicide phenomenon, to create a database for in-depth research, and to serve crime prevention and prevention-targeting purposes.

Since 2002, the Finnish homicide monitor (FHM) has been maintained jointly by the Institute of Criminology and Legal Policy (University of Helsinki), the National Police Board and the Police College Research Unit. The FHM uses victim-based data architecture and is updated on an ongoing basis. Each row of the data matrix corresponds to a homicide victim.

Introducción -- Desde el año 2015, la Corte Suprema de Justicia de la Nación asume la labor de elaborar un Registro Nacional de Femicidios de la Justicia Argentina. A tal efecto, la Vicepresidenta, Dra Elena Highton de Nolasco, en su calidad de Ministra a cargo de la Oficina de la Mujer
y de la Oficina de Violencia Doméstica requirió la colaboración de todas las jurisdicciones del país.

In its resolution 68/191, entitled “Taking action against gender-related killing of women and girls”, the General Assembly requested the United Nations Office on Drugs and Crime (UNODC) to continue conducting relevant research on gender-related killing of women and girls, and encouraged the Office to raise awareness among Member States regarding this matter.

In its resolution 68/191, entitled “Taking action against gender-related killing of women and girls”, the General Assembly requested the Secretary-General to convene an open-ended intergovernmental expert group meeting to discuss ways and means to more effectively prevent, investigate, prosecute and punish gender-related killing of women and girls, with a view to making practical recommendations, drawing also on current best practices, in consultation with relevant United Nations entities and human rights mechanisms.
