This booklet is based on relevant United Nations Secretary-General reports and should not be considered a full précis of these official documents. Instead, this booklet provides a summary of general information about United Nations support and assistance to counter genderrelated killing and offers recommendations on the subject. This booklet aims to raise awareness among criminal justice practitioners, policy and decision makers, as well as United Nations staff and civil society.
Introducción -- Desde el año 2015, la Corte Suprema de Justicia de la Nación asume la labor de elaborar un Registro Nacional de Femicidios de la Justicia Argentina. A tal efecto, la Vicepresidenta, Dra Elena Highton de Nolasco, en su calidad de Ministra a cargo de la Oficina de la Mujer
y de la Oficina de Violencia Doméstica requirió la colaboración de todas las jurisdicciones del país.

In its resolution 68/191, entitled “Taking action against gender-related killing of women and girls”, the General Assembly invited Member States to provide the United Nations Office on Drugs and Crime (UNODC) with information related to best practices and other relevant information related to the investigation and prosecution of gender-related killing of women and girls, in accordance with national legislation.
On 18 December 2013, the General Assembly adopted resolution 68/191, entitled "Taking action against gender-related killing of women and girls", which originated at the 2013 session of the Commission on Crime Prevention and Criminal Justice.
