COVID-19 can augment violence to Mexican women

This article provides readers with an explanation on the relationship between the COVID-19 pandemic and increased levels of violence against women and Femicide in Mexico. The author highlights aspects of the pandemic such as isolation from support networks, increased time spent with family members/friends, and current government interventions, and how each have contributed to the increase in violence against Mexican Women. The authors also note the previous rates of Femicide and VAW in Mexico, and the government’s lack of involvement in these cases. The article ends with suggestions on how the Mexican government can reduce violence against women and Femicide.
