Ceyda Ulukaya is a PhD student at Istanbul Bilgi University, Department of Communication, Turkey. She also works as a journalist for Turkish daily newspaper Milliyet. Her research focuses on gender-based violence, trial by social media, and data visualisation. Her independent investigative journalism project, “Mapping Femicides Covered by the Media,” became one of the 2016 finalists of the Data Journalism Awards organised by the Global Investigative Journalism Network.
