WAVE is a non-governmental feminist organization focusing exclusively on the elimination of violence against women and the protection of human rights of women and children. WAVE adheres to the aims of the United Nations in accordance with the Vienna Declaration, the Declaration on Violence against Women, the Beijing Platform for Action and all other related documents stressing the importance of working towards ending VAW.

Founded in 1994, there are now over 150 members including network organizations, single organizations, and individual members in 46 European countries.
