Executive Summary

Relaunched on November 25th, 2021, this map shows femicides in Turkey from 2010 to 2020. The data obtained was based on media reports. 

The development and research of the project was carried out by Ceyda Ulukaya. The interface was developed by Yakup Çetinkaya and the design was made by Sevil Şeten.

In Turkey at least 2,534 women were killed between 2010 and 2020. This means that every 1.5 day at least one woman is murdered.

One woman out of five was killed during the course of divorce/break-up.

One woman out of five was exposed to violence/ harassment before being murdered.
