Nechama Brodie is a multimedia journalist and a lecturer at the Wits Centre for Journalism at the University of the Witwatersrand in Johannesburg. Her research work focuses on the epidemiology and epistemology of fatal violence in South Africa and the Global South, including developing tools that will allow violence researchers to build robust, interdisciplinary, and multi-use databases using news media and other archives. She is the author of the 2020 monograph Femicide in South Africa.
