Femicide on the Rise: Kenya’s Need to Reconstruct a Security System


In Kenya, many are stressing how there needs to be a new architectural design to the security system to protect women against being victims of femicide. The article discusses how Kenya is beginning to worsen with its crimes against females, and how the term ‘manosphere’ fills the community. ‘Manosphere’ is a collection of websites or online forums that promote masculinity, misogyny and opposition to gender equality. Kenya’s cyberspace being filled with gender inequality, highlights how deeply rooted the problem is within the constitutional system. Thus there needs to be a call for action to begin disarming the security and reconstructing a new and effective system.
