Red Lésbica Cattrachas: Protecting LGBTI Human Rights in Honduras

Executive Summary

In 2000, Cattrachas was established to support the Human Rights of LGBTI individuals who reside in Honduras. The organization operates an observatory dedicated to identifying crimes against the LGBTI community, utilizing four systems to accurately categorize these offences. Not only does the observatory lend in documenting the various crimes, but the platform focuses on producing this information which is later used in international and national strategic litigation. Cattrachas has been highlighted in international and national media for their collective action for achieving progress for those who are sex-diverse individuals.

The Legal Team of the Cattrachas Lesbian Network is dedicated to the pursuit of human rights in LGBTI matters, through comprehensive support for victims of discrimination and violence; and strategic litigation with a differentiated approach in national and international instances.
