Data Artivism and the Movement Against Feminicide

Executive Summary

Through the lens of data artivism which can be used to promote activism through visually illuminating data from crafted and mobilized pieces of art. The collaboration of artivism and feminicide, the targeted killings of females because of their gender, provides a new form of a fight against this world issue. The article delves into the complex narratives and intersectionalities that are present throughout Latin America, demonstrating how communities have fostered knowledge and experience to take part in fighting in the movement against feminicide. Collectively combining femicide and artivism allows for all individuals to engage together as a community and create pieces of art that depicts a story, foster change and combat femicide while empowering their own communities.
